About Immanuel
Immanuel is blessed with numerous avenues for you to find easy connection with people and to build friendships. It's the kind of place that lets you quickly get a real sense of belonging and inclusion. Numerous and varied opportunities exist for you to discover more about a growing faith in Christ, with impact and significance for your life experiences. The Church is situated on the same campus as the College and the Gardens. Its setting is surrounded by tropical rainforest with a panoramic view over the Sunshine Coast. Ministry areas cover all ages, focusing on relational groups, fellowship and social events, special interest and service groups, and many other avenues to make lasting friendships among the people at Immanuel.
5 key growth areas are increasingly touching lives with the power of the Holy Spirit and transforming them into disciples for Jesus Christ. They form the basis for the comprehensive approach we have adopted at Immanuel Lutheran Church:

growing spiritually
growing relationally
growing as disciples
growing in our stewardship
growing in our resources to bless

So we aim to let the empowering Word of God make Immanuel Lutheran Church, Buderim, a great place to be, make a difference as we see lives transformed, and make an impact to reach people with God's love.

History
The first organised Luthern worship service at Maroochydore was conducted by Pastor M. Prenzler in June 1960. In the months that followed work began to organize the formation of a congregation under the adopted name of “Immanuel Lutheran Church.” In December of 1962, the official opening of the newly built Church at Hinkler Parade was dedicated, under the ministry of Pastor H.P.V. Renner.

During the years 1979 – 1983 further developments took place under the ministry of Pastor K. Thamm: namely the initial establishment of the Primary School and Immanuel College at Buderim. In 1984 the land adjacent to these developments was purchased for the establishment of Immanuel Gardens, which today has 99 independent living units, an aged care hostel, and nursing home facilities.

In 1986 Pastor N. Noack was called. Ministry on the Sunshine Coast expanded to include Caloundra. The following year Pastor H. Pohlner was called to serve as second Pastor. The Caloundra congregation grew to develop its own ministry, which today include Pacific College. Immanuel Lutheran Church relocated to Buderim after the new worship centre was officially dedicated on June, 1999.

Under our current ministry direction given by Pastor D. Willner, who was called in 2002, we are seeing the benefits of these physical blessings through our campus and community mission and ministry links. We are moving ahead to realize a God-given opportunity: “to be a growing community of Christ in response to God's love.”
